Get to Know Our Leadership
Lead Pastor - Dan Smouse
Pastor Dan Smouse is the Lead Pastor for Lighthouse Community Church. He and his wife, Raine, came to Alaska in November 2015 and love the Alaskan life. He loves to fly-fish and one day hopes to shoot a brown bear here on the Peninsula. He is a confessed coffee snob and insists on drinking his coffee in traditional diner-style cup and saucer. You can also find Dan in the Sporting Goods department at the Kenai Walmart where he works part-time.
Worship Director - Steve Henry
Steve and his wife Sharley, came up to Alaska from San Clemente, California and joined us in August of 2017. Steve leads our Sunday morning worship services, invests in the development of our worship teams, and is our “go to” tech guy. You may meet Steve at your front door or at work when he makes a Fedex delivery. Steve loves to surf, hike, and spend time with his wife.
Student Ministry Director - Matt Tirado
Matt and his wife Nicole brought their family to Nikiski from Casa Grande, Arizona in May of 2020 to serve full-time at The Compass Youth Center and give leadership to the development of our Student Ministries at Lighthouse. Matt enjoys cooking and getting out with his family into the outdoors.
Administrative Secretary - Constance Nicks
Constance has been a part of Lighthouse since 2008. She started volunteering as the church treasurer and was brought on permanently as the Financial Secretary in October of 2014. She is a member of the Administrative Leadership Team and is the Secretary for the church. Constance works at the church office weekly on Sunday afternoons. During the week you can find her working at the Alaska Fish and Game office on K-Beach. Her main priority and joy, though, is loving on her three kids.
